Your Hiking Tour Kaiserstuhl through the Kaiserstuhl takes you from Breisach to Bötzingen. You leave the tranquillity of Breisach am Rhein with an experienced hiking guide. Your path first leads through the Rhine plain with many meadow orchards to Ihringen: Depending on the season, you can watch the asparagus and strawberry harvest or admire the blossoming apple, pear and cherry trees.
Ihringen am Kaiserstuhl is considered the warmest place in Germany. Here we leave the plain and walk through vineyards that benefit from the warm climate. Wine lovers will discover well-known names such as Ihringer Winklerberg. From the Kreuzbuck you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Rhine plain. We continue hiking at an altitude of 300-375 meters before descending into the Lilienthal. Along the way you will pass orchid fields and redwoods. Lilienhof Palace was built here in 1897 but was later demolished. Today the complex consists of a former courtyard with a central old fountain; the former main building called Schlößle was renovated in 1980. It includes the area of forest management, a lecture hall and also offers a gastronomic offer. There are many botanical nature trails in Lilienthal. Specially designed orchid trails offer the opportunity to find many orchids and other orchid species from April to mid-June. On one of these roads, the road leads up to Gagenhardt and the Vogelsang Pass. The Vogelsang Pass offers a wonderful view of the Upper Rhine Plain and the western side of the Black Forest. To the west you can see the Kaiserstuhl: Altvogtsburg and Badberg with their dry meadows are clearly visible.
The path now leads down to Bötzingen, which is 192 meters above sea level. Today Bötzingen is a typical wine producing village in the Upper Rhine Valley. It was first mentioned in a document in 769, when it was donated to the Lorsch Monastery in the Lorsch Codex. Oberschaffhausen first appeared in the 12th century in the year when Pope Eugenius III. confirmed his ownership 11 3 the monastery of St. Ulrich in the Black Forest. In 1838 the independent towns of Bötzingen and Oberschaffhausen merged to form the municipality of Bötzingen. Your tour ends here at the train station.
